SOMEthing to THINK about
One of the places, where Islam and Judaism (and in a lesser extent Christianity) clash, is Jerusalem, and especially in relation to the Temple-mount, the Al-Aqsa mosk and the Dome of the Rock.
One has to consider that the latter is nothing more, than a roof. An elegant and shining one, but a roof. Much more important is the rock, it protects and accentuates.
Under the Dome lies THE rock. It is, according to tradition, the place where God created Adam, Abraham wanted to sacrifice his son and Mohammed ascended into heaven.
The Rock is one of most sacred places in 3 monotheistic religions.
The Jews want to rebuild the Temple and the Dome has to disappear. Some Israelis, totally missing the point, want to demolish it and rebuild the monument in Mecca.
The Dome is more than 1000 years old and build for Muslim rulers, who had conquered the Holy Land. Ironically it was constructed by Byzantine, and therefore christian, craftsmen.
